Golf Ireland announces new partnership with Whirlpool
Golf Ireland has announced a three-year partnership with leading household appliance brand Whirlpool which will see significant support for its championships and wider programmes.
Whirlpool will become an official partner of Golf Ireland and its official appliance partner, with naming rights secured across established events and initiatives within the calendar.
Whirlpool will be title sponsor of the Irish Senior Men’s Open Championship, the Irish Senior Men’s Close & Women’s Senior Open Championship, and the Irish Senior Men’s & Women’s Close Championship. The partnership also includes the Whirlpool Senior Order of Merit and the Whirlpool Irish Mixed Fourball, alongside support for the Volunteer of the Year, with the Women and Girls Award.
“We’re delighted to welcome Whirlpool on board as a partner of Golf Ireland,” said Golf Ireland CEO Mark Kennelly.
“This is a broad agreement that will support key championships and initiatives, particularly within the senior game, which continues to grow in both participation and standard.
“Having that level of backing is important for us as we look to recognise performance and contribution across the sport. We’re looking forward to working closely with Whirlpool over the coming years.”
The partnership was launched today at Dun Laoghaire during the opening round of the Whirlpool Irish Senior Men’s Close & Women’s Senior Open Championship, where leading players from across Ireland and other countries will gather for one of the key events in the season.
