Roscommon’s Olivia Costello romped to an impressive five stroke win in the Pinergy Woodbrook Women’s Scratch Cup.

Runner-up in the Copa Andalucía Femenina and Copa de la Reina in Spain earlier this season, Costello opened with a one-under 73 to lead by one stroke from Clandeboye’s Jessica Ross, Romford’s Zoe McLean-Tattan and Co Sligo’s Maebh McLoughlin.

She added a second round 73 in the afternoon to lead by a shot from McLean-Tattan heading in the final round on May Bank Holiday Monday.

She then went on to make an eagle and two birdies and bogey in a closing, three-under 71 to win by five-shots on 217 from Ross, who shot a closing 73, and McLean-Tattan, who shot 75.

McLoughlin was an excellent fourth on one-over 223 with Hermitage’s Kate Lanigan fifth on seven-over.
